Reflections from The Inner Map Teacher Training

This training is a reorientation to the body’s deep intelligence, to movement that heals and to embody natural alignment that emerges from the inside out.

Below are reflections from some of the beautiful beings who took this journey, from seasoned yoga teachers to embodied practitioners with decades of experience. Their words offer a glimpse into what happens when tensegrity meets breath, when fascia becomes felt and when the practice moves off the mat and into life.

Their insights are raw, real and humbling and a powerful reminder that when we listen closely to the body… the map reveals itself.

1. Creating tensegrity through breath. When I expand the ribcage and maintain it expanded while practicing, I feel a much greater level of tensegrity. The diaphragm is the central fascial hub.

2. The internal spiral of the thighs was huge for me - during this training I finally understood and now do it while standing, sitting, driving… it makes a big difference in how I feel in my hips and back.

3. Through your teachings Saskia, I have let go of my A-type personality (or let go of part of it!!!) and trusted more my body’s signals and wisdom.

Anne McNabb - Genevayoga teacher +35 years experience

I LOVED the deep dive and want to take it again. I feel like I skimmed the surface even though we covered a lot. So much to learn and what an amazing journey! So special! Very exciting!

I so appreciate having more knowledge about the body and this practice. Thank you Saskia! And, thank you, Anne for sharing your deep knowledge of anatomy. The app you recommended is so GOOD!
And, I’ve developed much greater awareness with this knowledge of the body.

My practice has improved so much, and application to daily life is resulting in me feeling lighter and lighter and stronger and stronger both on and off the mat! I would love to do a monthly as Saskia suggested. What are your thoughts?

And recording ourselves and then the collective feedback of the group put it all together somehow.

One of the most valuable lessons for me was the importance of focus during practice — truly being present in the moment, with attention and intention. Closely connected to that was learning to use the breath as a guide: it became a way to anchor myself, to listen inwardly, and to move more intuitively.
I also discovered how much there is to gain from observation — both of myself and others. Simply noticing, without judgement, created space for awareness and subtle shifts, and taught me that often less is more.
A significant shift for me has also been learning to trust the process — to surrender to it, rather than trying to control or understand everything intellectually. That trust has opened up a softer, more receptive space within me.
One experience that deeply moved me was our final private session with you. It felt like, maybe for the first time, I truly experienced what it means to be one with everything — in movement, in stillness. Your voice seemed to move through me, guiding my body without thought, without effort. It was a sense of wholeness, and it touched something very deep in me — in a profoundly positive and lasting way.
Above all, I was reminded again and again that this is a journey — one that keeps unfolding. There is no final destination, and that’s okay. What matters most is that we listen to our bodies, as that’s where everything begins. That deep, honest listening is the foundation for true alignment.
I’m grateful for all that I’ve learned and excited to continue exploring this path.

Thank you for last six months. It was an intensive training. I'm practicing natural alignment with you for 11 months and last half year I learned a lot about how and why.
What you said yesterday about it being an intensive training for me is true.
I learned a lot.
Below mentioned the three take - aways.

1) Emotions are hidden in the fascia. I feel more space, light in my body and I feel I need to be less shy and take more space in this world. ( I already new this, but now I feel it in my body)

2) Never combine other types of alignments with natural alignment. After a essentrics lesson I immediately got back pain. Your practice of hip opener helped!

3) Bigger awareness of curves and tensegrity. More aware of my feet. Balancing on my left foot is difficult. My left knee is shaking. Now I know to lean more on my big toe and and put my buttocks back and up. Several times a week I'm practicing my feet and I'm wearing bare foot shoes.

Thank you Saskia, you're a great inspiration.

Carla Djikstra - NetherlandsReiki master

I loved it! It rekindled my enthusiasm for natural alignment and gave me a clearer picture of how to “sell” it to my students.
It made me understand the importance of slowing down.
It made me see how much i love learning new skills.
I loved the non dogmatic approach. We are all learning and growing, there us no right or wrong and growth is not linear
